Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
This chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe makes approximately 8 dozen delicious cookies. Oatmeal is one of the main ingredients adding health benefits as well!
A co-worker used to make these cookies. The cookies would quickly disappear. They're definitely a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients: 2 cups butter 2 cups sugar 2 cups brown sugar 4 eggs 2 t. vanilla 4 cups flour 5 cups oatmeal 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking soda 2 teaspoons baking powder 24 ounces chocolate chips 8 ounce Hersheys bar (finely grated) 3 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Cream the butter and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Set aside. 3. Powder the oatmeal in a blender. In a large bowl mix together the oatmeal, flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. 4. Add the butter and sugar mixture to the large bowl. Mix well. Add chocolate chips, grated Hersheys bar, and nuts. 5. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown; approximately 6 minutes.
Tip: If you are reusing the same cookie sheets, cool them off before adding the next batch of cookies. You can quickly cool pans off by rinsing them in cold water.
