Chocolate Bread Pudding with Hot Fudge Sauce
This chocolate bread pudding is a chocolate lover's delight. A decadent bread pudding topped with a delicious hot fudge sauce. This dessert is an excellent way to satisfy your chocolate cravings.
Ingredients for Bread Pudding:
6 slices white bread, cut in cubes
discarding crust
2 cups lowfat milk
3/4 cup evaporated milk
2 Tablespoons cocoa
2 large eggs
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions for Bread Pudding:
1. Spray a 9 X 13 inch baking dish with cooking oil. Lay the bread in the dish.
2. Add milk, evaporated milk, and cocoa to a small saucepan. Heat on low heat until slightly warm.
3. In a medium bowl mix eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add the warm milk mixture. Blend well. Pour over the bread. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
4. Bake at 350 degrees until set. This will take 35-40 minutes.
Ingredients for Hot Fudge Sauce:
2 ounces semisweet chocolate
1 Tablespoon cocoa
2 Tablespoons light Karo syrup
1/4 cup butter
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions for Hot Fudge Sauce:
1. Place all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Cook on low until chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Stir constantly.
2. Serve the bread pudding immediately with hot fudge sauce poured over the pudding.
